Pinta - Europe’s Modern and Contemporary Latin American Art Show – opens in London on June 3
The first Pinta London will open at London’s Earls Court on June 3.  Following in the the tradition of three editions of the fair in New York, Pinta London will feature around fifty galleries from the most important urban epicenters of the art world, as well as from Central and South American capitals. Many of Tate’s supporters and devoted collectors of Latin American art have agreed to be on its Host Committee including Tiqui Atencio, Ella Cisneros, Rosa de la Cruz, Estrellita Brodsky, Sagrario Perez Soto, Erica Roberts,  Solita Mishaan, Jorge Virgili, Frances Reynolds, Fátima Maleki, Luis Benshimol, Catherine Petitgas, and Lilly Scarpetta among its distinguished members. The fair’s exclusive Pinta Museum Acquisitions Program is a unique mechanism that incentivizes the purchase of works from participating gallery through a matching funds program and we are proud to announce that Tate has been invited to participate in this along with the University of Essex Collection of Latin American Art; the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris: the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid; the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Barcelona, MACBA; and the Middlesborough Institute of Modern Art, MIMA, England. http://www.pintaart.com/2010london/index.php
