Our latest news…

Celebrating Ten Years
On September 1, the American Patrons of Tate celebrated the tenth anniversary of opening an office in New York. During this period $59 million has been raised to support capital appeals, exhibitions and scholarship projects at Tate as well as the acquisition of works of art from North and South America. In addition, over $40 million of art has been acquired using either income from our endowment or by generous gifts from private collectors.  We are truly grateful for your support which enables art from North and South America to be fully represented at the most visited museum of modern art in the world.  Thank you so much!

Tate News: Bob and Roberta Smith and Wolfgang Tillmans appointed as Tate Trustees
Artists Bob and Roberta Smith and Wolfgang Tillmans have been appointed as Tate Trustees. These two artists will join Tate’s current artist Trustees Jeremy Deller and Anish Kapoor. Both Bob and Roberta Smith and Wolfgang Tillmans have demonstrated their extraordinary artistic practice at Tate over recent years; For this year's Tate Triennial Altermodern, Bob and Roberta Smith displayed his signature faux-retro text pieces emulating the language of protest or political sloganeering, infused with subversive humour. He created a new piece for the exhibition every Friday for the duration of the show; Wolfgang Tillmans will be known to many from his monographic exhibition at Tate Britain in 2003, If one thing matters, everything matters. He also won the Turner Prize in 2000.
